Padma Priya aka Chennai Tamizhachi is a politician, model and social activist. Padma Priya is a researcher, teacher, blogger, and muser. She started content making through the TikTok app and delivered various videos related to science, general facts, information, and beauty vlog rather than just doing lipsync.
She become fame after posting a video opposing the draft EIA 2020. In 2021 she entered politics and selected as a State Secretary of Environmental Wing of actor Kamal Haasan’s political party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM). She contests in the Maduravoyal constituency in Chennai in the Tamil Nadu state election 2021.
On 13 May 2021, she resigned her post from the MNM party due to personal reasons. On 08 July 2021, Padma Priya joins the ruling party DMK officially.
